11/30/06-12/4/09

This week we have looked at some new tutorials for our games. They haven't helped out to much but we are still looking. Mrs. Chen has been absent for the past couple of days. So, we have just been working on our games.

11/16-11/20

This week we started our individual games after finding out that the codes for our team games were a little off. They had glitches in them. We are trying to talk to the Globoria people to get some new codes. This is more or less all we did this week. Have a great holiday break.

11/9-11/13

This week we mainly worked on our games. It has been kinda frustrating because the code for some of the games aren't working correctly. It is getting annoying that we can't get ahold of the people at Globoria. We really need some help and they need to either send us the code or call us and talk us through it. We have had a short week due to assemblies and a day off. We are getting things finished in here though... for the most part.

Weekly Review

1) Our game topic is about the different types of government.
2) Teaches you about how different governments work and about them.
3) On the first page, you may click on one of the four pictures to read about the biography on each character. Also, you may click on the arrow to start the game. You will come to a screen and you have to answer some questions. If you get the question wrong it will send you to a wrong answer screen. If you get it correct you will advance to the next question. After so many questions, you will end up at a mini game. Each mini game differs and is about different governments. You will have two difficult mini games at the very end. One of these is a maze and the other is similar to the other mini games throughout the game. These will test your brain in ways you wouldn’t expect from a civics game. Once you play this game you will have to play it again and again. Have a great time learning more about the different types of governments.
4) Anyone who plays this game will learn more about civics and government. Our game talks about democracy, communism, Nazism, Marxism, and fascism. You will learn about the different leaders that believed in each of these governments. Also, you will learn some important dates and events that happened due to these leaders. Each question will teach you something different about each character: Mao Tse Tung, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and the United States of America. If you know a lot about history or think you do, this game will test your knowledge about government and history. This would be an excellent game for a teacher to use to get kids to learn more about history and have fun doing so. The mini games in our game will allow kids to have a good time learning about history (more than you can say about most civics/history games). Have a great time playing our game.
5) Our game fits into the Government section of Civics Frame work.
6) Our game teaches about both the function and ideals of government. Our game talks about how different governments work and what each leader believes in.

10/25-10/30

This week wasn't all that bad. We worked on our games most of the week. We got quite a lot finished. Not much else happened.

The Civics Subject

I didn't find much of anything hard about the civics topic. I knew the day we found out about the game what I was going to do it on. Civics isn't necessarily the most exciting topic, but it does have its good points. We will teach people about civics as well as give them a a fun game to play.

10/19-10/23

This week was rather intersting. We had some visitors from Globoria come on the 21st. They looked at our games and gave us some ideas on how to make them better. They helped us out a lot on our game. We not are putting in a few different things than before. We worked on our games throught the rest of the week and we are finailly getting the hang of it. It was a pretty good week.

Video about Game(facts)

10/12-10/16

This week we learned how to put a button on our game and how to trace items. The button has been giving us a lot of trouble, but we are going to get it. We also had to play these terrible civics games. No one wants to play these or should have to play these games.

Our Civics Game

Aaron and my civics game is about Hitler and Stalin. This game relates to civics by the gov't questions and the biography abotu each person. After each level, the player will have to answer a question dealing with each leader. They might be about death tolls or what gov't they lead. It has to do with gov't because both were leaders of their country. Thank you.

10/5-10/8

This week we put our paper prototype videos on our wiki. It was very easy. It has been a very confusing week because of all the things we have had to do. We are going to begin our game production next week. That will be fun.

A-Team^2

Our team name is A-Team^2. This is made up of Aaron and myself. Our game is going to be a shooter that pertains to WWII(Hitler and Stalin). We are going to make it an educational game as well as a fun game for anyone to play. Something I didn't know before I started on this project is that when Germany attacked Russia over seven million German and Soviet troops battled, and 2.5 million died. Also I never knew that Hitler and his army killed over 11 million people. The last fact I've learned is that Stalin killed over 20,000,000 people in his reign.

9/28-10/2

During this week, we created our paper prototype. Aaron is my partner and we are doing an awesome job on it. We have many great ideas that will send this game to the top of the charts. Check out our prototype coming soon. Thank you.

Most Important Thing in Flash

I believe that the most important thing in flash would be understanding your tools. If you don't understand how to use your tools, you won't be going anywhere.

Class Flash Game

Wow! This is one troublesome game. It has taken us a whole week to get some carrots, a rabbit and a wolf to move. These codes are obviously wrong. Thankfully we have figured most of the problems out and we are close to the finish. It has frustrated me at times, but it is an overall...FAIL! This game is pointless. WE ARE WASTING TIME ON THIS GAME!

http://www.historyglobe.com/jamestown/

This is a game about our first permanent town, Jamestown. You have to choose where you land and what to make and what people do. At the end of the game, you will be rated on how well you chose. This game teaches you about early America and how people made their money. It also shows what they did to survive. Goodluck. Have fun.

Civics Games

American Symbols Game: Very simple. Fun if you are into American history.
Bill Of Rights Match Game: Simple. Good for a teacher to use in class.
Geography America: Simple(if you know your states). Good for high school students.
Redistricting Game: Pointless. I didn't really find the point they were trying to reach.
Branches Of Government: Simple. Not much of a point.
There Should Be A Law: Completely dumb. Nothing fun about this game.
Pick 12: No instructions. Controls are very dumb. Not a very well designed game.
Play The News: Not to much to do. Nothing special.
Bump The Birds: Wow. This is the dumbest of them all. Nothing at all fun just pointlessness.

I'd say that all of these games are lame. I really had no fun at all playing any of these games. You would have to really love civics or American history to like these games.

A Game I liked

The game I liked most was Stop Disasters. It wasn't all that hard but yet fun to see what would happen. I would never make a game like that, but it was a fun game to play.

Games I'd Like to Make

If I were to create a game, I would have to make either a party game, such as, Mario Party, Super Smash Bros., or Gauntlet. The other type of game I would like to make is an adventure game, such as, Star Fox, Zelda, Tomb Raider, Oblivion, or Fallout. These are my favorite types of games to play, so what better than make one myself.

The Hardest Thing About This Assignment

The hardest thing I found about this assignment was, figuring out how to place a video on my Blogger. I had some trouble finding where to place the html. After a little bit of looking, I found it so now I know how to do everything on here.
